Warriors Take Lead in Fourth, Beat Bulldog Girls

The De Smet Bulldogs (6-8) had the lead for three quarters of the game, but the Castlewood Warriors rallied in the fourth quarter to win 53-44 on Monday, January 30th.

The Bulldogs took a quick 13-2 lead with 2:15 to play in the opening quarter.  De Smet led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter.  They continued to hold the lead over the next quarters.  The Bulldogs led 27-24 at halftime and also 36-33 at the end of the third quarter.  Castlewood tied the game 38-38 with 6:15 to play in the game, and then continued with the momentum.  The Warriors outscored the Bulldogs 15-6 the remainder of the game for the win.

De Smet shot 35% (17-48) from the field, 26% (6-23) from three-point area, and 4-7 from the free-throw line.  Castlewood shot 38% (18-48) overall, 30% (7-23) on three-point attempts, and 53% (10-19) from the free-throw line.

Hazel Luethmers had 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Alyssa Asleson finished with 11 points and three rebounds.  Jada Burke added 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists.  Cori Birkel had six points, eight rebounds, and three assists.  Mirra Beck ended with four points, eight rebounds, and two assists.
