The De Smet Bulldog volleyball team won their third straight match with a straight set win over the Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Raiders at home on Thursday, October 10th. De Smet won by scores of 25-16, 25-13, and 25-18.
The Raiders got out to a quick start in the opening set, 5-0. They continued to lead 8-4, but De Smet went on a 7-1 run for an 11-9 lead. The Bulldogs continued their run. They increased their lead to 20-14 before winning 25-16.
De Smet got the lead 4-3 to start the second set. After a slim 9-7 lead, the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to increase the lead to 14-7. They would cruise from there to a 25-13 win. Oldham-Ramona/Rutland grabbed an early 4-3 lead to start the third set, but that was the last lead they would have. De Smet went on a 5-1 run to go in front 8-5. They extended the lead to 23-13. The Raiders scored the next four points to cut the lead to 23-17, but the Bulldogs finished the match with the 25-18 lead.
