The De Smet Bulldogs traveled to White to play in their half of the Dakota Valley Conference Tournament bracket on Saturday, October 14th. The Bulldogs finished 0-4 on the day.
The Deubrook Dolphins defeated the Bulldogs in three sets by scores of 25-11, 23-25, and 25-23. Hazel Luethmers had 15 kills, an ace serve, and three blocks. Brooke Jennings had four kills and 15 digs. Mirra Beck added two kills and 12 digs. Alyssa Asleson had six set assists, an ace, and 15 digs. Megan Dylla finished with 13 set assists and 12 digs.
De Smet also played a three-set match against the Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Raiders. The Raiders won by scores of 25-15, 15-25, and 25-19. Jennings, Beck, and Luethmers all had 10 kills each. Dylla had 17 set assists and 10 digs. Asleson had 12 set assists and 12 digs. Harper Anderson finished with 11 digs.
The Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks defeated the Bulldogs in straight sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-16. Luethmers finished with six kills and two blocks. Jennings added three kills and nine digs. Dylla had eight digs. Ivey Schoenfelder had a kill and a block. Aubree Blue added four digs.
De Smet also faced the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals. The Cardinals won in straight sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-19. Luethmers added nine more kills to her total. Beck had four kills. Jennings also had two kills. Schoenfelder had an ace serve and block. Asleson had five digs, four set assists, and an ace. Dylla finished with seven set assists and nine digs. Blue added six digs.
