Bulldog Girls Basketball Wins First Game of Season

The 2022-2023 season for the De Smet Bulldog season started with a home win on Friday, December 9th.  The Bulldogs defeated the Deubrook Area Dolphins 48-32.

De Smet led for just about all of the game as they slowly expanded the lead as the game played.  The Bulldogs led 14-8 at the end of the first quarter.  The lead grew to 10 points, 26-16, at halftime.  De Smet increased the lead to 36-25 by the end of the third quarter and then outscored the Dolphins 12-7 in the final quarter.

De Smet finished the game shooting 35% (19-55) from the field, 20% (4-20) on three-point attempts, and 60% (6-10) from the free-throw line.  The Dolphins were just 18% (10-55) shooting overall, 17% (4-24) on three-point attempts, and 57% (8-14) from the free-throw line.

Jada Burke finished with a double-double scoring 27 points and collecting 11 rebounds.  She also had four steals.  Hazel Luethmers had eight points and six rebounds.  Alyssa Asleson added six points and three rebounds, and Emma Albrecht had five points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
