DeSmet shot 49% from the field in the game on their way to a 64-30 win over the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Friday, December 18th, in DeSmet. The Bulldogs out-rebounded the Cardinals 27-24, and DeSmet also forced 20 St Mary turnovers.
The Bulldogs led early and never looked back as they got out to a 23-5 lead after the first quarter. DeSmet led 46-13 at halftime, and 57-21 after the third quarter.
St Mary shot 23.3% (10-43) from the field, 33.3% (4-12) from three-point area, and 66.7% (6-9) from the free-throw line in the game. Luke Brown led the Cardinals with 11 points and three rebounds. Connor Libis and Noah Fiegen each had five points a piece. Fiegen had four rebounds in the game as well.
The Cardinals (1-2) travel to White to face Deubrook Area on Tuesday, December 22nd.
