Miller Sinks 33 Points as Cardinals Cruise to Win

Jenna Miller scored 33 points, 28 of those in the first half, to help the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls to a 71-51 win over the Alcester-Hudson Cubs on Thursday, January 25th.

The team played its most complete game of the year.  Ten different players scored in the game, they shot over 40% for the game, and only committed seven turnovers.  St Mary finished the game shooting 41% (25-61) overall, 52% (11-21) from three-point area, and 71% (10-14) from the free-throw line.  The Cubs shot 40% (17-42) overall, 50% (6-12) from three-point area, and 73% (11-15) from the free-throw line.  Alcester-Hudson, however, committed 23 turnovers in the game.

The Cardinals scorched the net in the first quarter and built a 26-7 lead after the first period.  St Mary increased the lead to 41-20 by halftime.  Alcester-Hudson made a little run in the second quarter and pulled with 12 points, but St Mary responded and held a 56-33 advantage going into the final quarter.

Along with 33 points, Miller had two rebounds, an assist, and a steal.  Addison Libis had 12 points, three assists, and two steals.  Megan Geraets finished with five points and four rebounds.  Sierra Klein also had five points with three assists, and two steals.  Brianna Griffen ended with four points and eight rebounds.
