Outside Shooting Goes Cold for Cardinal Girls in White

The St Mary Cardinal girls shot just 20% on three-point attempts against the Deubrook Dolphins on Tuesday, January 28th.  The Dolphins used that to help them to a 58-45 win.

Deubrook held a 13-8 lead with just under three minutes to play in the opening quarter.  St Mary pulled within one, 13-12, by the end of the first quarter.  That was as close as the Cardinals would get.  Deubrook extended their lead to 10 points, 28-18, by halftime.  St Mary cut into the lead a little in the third quarter.  The Cardinals trailed 40-33 going into the fourth quarter.  The Dolphins outscored St Mary 19-12 in the final quarter.

St Mary shot 29.6% (16-54) overall from the field, 20% (5-25) on three-point shots, and 61.5% (8-13) from the free-throw line.  The Dolphins shot 45.0% (18-40) overall, 57.1% (8-14) on three-point attempts, and 58.3% (14-24) from the free-throw line.

Madala Hanson had 19 points and two steals.  Maddyn LeBrun finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.  Jenna Miller added eight points and two assists.
