The St Mary Cardinal girls held off a third quarter rally by the Chester Flyers for a 54-44 win on Friday, January 31st.
The Cardinals were on fire in the first quarter and led 21-5. Chester made a three-point shot at the buzzer to make the score 21-8 going into the second quarter. St Mary was able to extend the lead in the second quarter. They held a 33-17 lead at halftime.
Chester starting making a run in the third quarter. They cut the lead down to 37-31 with 3:00 to go in the quarter. The Cardinals made back-to-back three pointers to stop the momentum. St Mary was able to end the third quarter with a 45-34 lead. They maintained their lead in the fourth quarter for the win.
Jenna Miller had 15 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Madala Hanson finished with 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Maddyn LeBrun had eight points, three rebounds, and two assists. Addison Libis had seven points.
