The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal volleyball team dropped their first two matches of the month of September. They traveled Canistota on Thursday, September 7th and then to Sioux Falls Lutheran on Monday, September 11th.
In their match with Canistota, the Cardinals and Hawks battled to five sets. St Mary won the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-22. The Cardinals looked to be in control of the match, but Canistota won the third set 25-21. They carried momentum into the fourth set and won 25-12 to force a fifth set. In the final set, the Hawks took the win by a slim 15-13 score.
St Mary then faced a tough Eagles team in Sioux Falls. The Eagles won in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-17.
The Cardinals will finally have their first official home match of the season on Tuesday, September 12th.
