“This was a very entertaining game that had the feel of a state tournament game, but unfortunately for us, we came up just short against a hot-shooting C-EB team. Once again, we jumped out to a strong start, but we allowed C-EB to gain some momentum with some careless turnovers and missed shot opportunities. Credit to them, they seized the momentum and then got really hot from the perimeter in the second half, and many of their made three pointers were from well beyond the NBA-range. We knew coming in that Norris and LeBeau were great shooters who were capable of putting up a lot of points, and they did just that. I am very proud of our team for fighting hard to the finish and finding a way to get the game into overtime; I feel we had our chances to come out on top, but it just wasn’t meant to be. I think this game can make our team a lot better and that we learned some things that we really need to work on to continue playing teams tough. Every game on the rest of our schedule will be very tough and we will need to improve offensively and defensively to find success throughout the rest of the season,” said head coach Jason Fersdahl.
The Quarriers finished 29-66 (44%) from the field, 8-21 (38%) from three-point area, and 15-25 (60%) from the free-throw line. They picked up 51 total rebounds as a team, had 11 steals, 18 assists, and turned the ball over 23 times. Zach White finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Cody Nielsen had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Zane Schumaker finished with 17 points, and Ty Hoglund had 14 points. Creighton LeBeau led Cheyenne-Eagle Butte with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Norris finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
