Second Half Surge Sends Beresford Boys to Win

A surge in the second half helped the Beresford Watchdog boys to a 57-44 win over the Parker Pheasants on Friday, January 3rd.

The Watchdogs opened the game on a 7-0 run.  They finished the first quarter with a 13-7 lead.  The two teams played close throughout the second quarter.  Parker was able to trim the lead to 26-25 by halftime.  The Pheasants scored the first two points of the third quarter to make the score 26-25, but the rest of the third quarter belonged to Beresford.  The Watchdogs outscored Parker 18-2 the rest of the quarter for a 44-27 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The surge helped give them enough cushion for the win.

Aidan Hamm had 18 points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Malachi James ended with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Tiegen Nyhaug finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Cooper Nelson added eight points and seven rebounds.
