Third Quarter Rally Stopped in Watchdog Girls Loss to Huskies

The Beresford Watchdogs (8-9) got behind in the first half and put together a rally in the third quarter, but the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies stopped the rally and won the game 45-28 on Friday, February 10th.

The Huskies held Beresford to just two points in the first quarter and led 8-2 at the break.  Both teams scored 10 points each in the second quarter, and Elk Point-Jefferson continued to lead by six, 18-12, at halftime.  The Watchdogs went on a 7-4 run in the third quarter and got within three points, 22-19, but their rally was stopped.  Elk Point-Jefferson ended the quarter on a 7-0 run for a 29-19 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Huskies then outscored Beresford 16-9 in the final quarter.

Ella Merrimann had seven points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Lily Sievert had five points and two rebounds.  Kendra Ellis also finished with five points.  Irelyn Fickbohm added four points.
