Watchdogs Hold Flandreau, Winning Streak Reaches Six

The Beresford Watchdogs (10-3) survived a third-quarter rally by the Flandreau Fliers and earned their six straight win.  The Watchdogs defeated the Fliers 61-50 at home on Thursday, January 26th.

Beresford looked to be headed for complete control of the game by the midpoint of the third quarter.  The Watchdogs led 13-6 at the end of the first quarter and then 28-17 at halftime.  They started the third quarter on a 4-0 run to lead 32-17 with 5:30 to play in the third quarter.  Flandreau then made a run.

The Fliers outscored Beresford 18-7 through the rest of the third quarter and trailed by just four points, 39-35, heading into the fourth.  Flandreau was able to get the game tied 44-44 with 5:36 to go in the game.  After a Flandreau timeout, Tate VanOtterloo connected on three straight three-point shots to give Beresford a 53-44 lead with just under 4:00 to play.  Those made shots gave the Watchdogs the momentum, and they were able to close out the game for the win.

VanOtterloo finished with 24 points in the game.  Andrew Atwood added 14 points.  Aidan Hamm had nine points in the game, and Jake Goblirsch tallied seven points.
