Watchdog Boys Basketball Ready to Improve on Last Season

After his first season as head coach of the Beresford Watchdog boys basketball program, head coach Benjamin Short said that the team worked hard learning a new system, terminology, and expectations last season that has ignited an excitement into the 2022-2023 season.

“The team and I have very high expectations set for this upcoming season.  We are long and athletic, and we return three of our starters from last year.  The guys really bought into the offseason program this past summer, getting stronger and faster physically.  We put in a lot of time on the basketball court as well.  The guys have a chance to take our program to the next level this season if we stay healthy and can work together as a team,” said Short.  Beresford finished the 2021-2022 season with an 8-13 record.

Tate VanOtterloo (senior), Jake Goblirsh (senior), and Andrew Atwood (junior) return to the starting lineup this year.  Beresford will also look to Mason Heiberger (senior), Jestin Wurth (Senior), Michael Shegrud (senior), Ryne Klungseth (senior), Jon Delay (junior), Seth James (junior), Aidan Hamm (sophomore), and Malachi James (freshman) as up-and-comers to watch this year.

Beresford will start the season on Friday, December 9th at Baltic.
