The Baltic 16U team won their last two games. They traveled to Garretson on Wednesday, July 5th and then hosted Hamlin on Friday, July 7th.
Baltic 16, Garretson 8
After falling behind in the middle innings, Baltic rallied late to earn a 16-8 victory against Garretson. Garretson took the early lead with a run in the bottom of the first. Baltic then had a five-run top of the second. Garretson scored the next six runs, getting three in the third and three in the fourth. After four innings of play, Garretson lead 7-5. Baltic got another run in the top of the fifth and then took the lead for good with three runs in the top of the sixth. Garretson added a run in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 9-8, but Baltic put the game away with seven runs in the top of the seventh.
Garrett Wilkison had three hits and two RBIs. Beau Breece had two hits and an RBI. Riker Rogers added two singles. AJ Grunewaldt finished with a triple and four RBIs. Braxton Allen had a double and three RBIs. Riley Schultz and Ryder Siemonsma both had a single and an RBI. Joey Grunewaldt added a single. Schultz pitched three innings and allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks with eight strikeouts. Breece pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits with five strikeouts. J. Grunewaldt pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on two hits and two walks.
Baltic 6, Hamlin 3
After Hamlin got an early run in the top of the first, Baltic scored four runs between the second and third innings to take a 4-1 lead. Hamlin got a single run in both the fourth and fifth innings to cut the lead to 4-3, but Baltic had a two-run bottom of the sixth to pull away 6-3 and take the win.
Isaac Oakley had a double with two RBIs. Jackson Goehring had a single as well as two RBIs. J. Grunewaldt and Wilkison each had a hit. Allen and A. Grunewaldt both had an RBI. Allen pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. J. Grunewaldt pitched the final 1/3 of an inning.
