The Baltic high school baseball team hosted West Central on Sunday, May 3rd. West Central scored three runs in the top of the seventh to get a 4-2 win over Baltic.
Cale Roach and Jackson Goehring had back-to-back RBI singles in the bottom of the first inning to give Baltic a 2-0 lead. West Central cut the lead in half, 2-1, with a run in the top of the third. The score remained 2-1 until the top of the seventh. With two outs West Central scored three times to take a 4-2 lead and then held for the win.
Roach and Goehring each had a single with an RBI. Elias Oakley and Laken Kortemeyer also each had one hit. Oakley pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts. Kortemeyer pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on three hits and two walks with one strikeout.
