Baltic Softball Snaps Skid, Rolls Past Parker

The Baltic Bulldog softball team snapped a two-game skid with a big win in Parker on Monday, April 21st.  The Bulldogs defeated the Pheasants 19-9 in six innings.

The first three innings were full of offense.  Baltic scored four times in the top of the first.  Parker responded with two in the bottom of the inning.  The Pheasants added another run in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 4-3.  The two teams then combined for 15 runs in the third inning.  Baltic scored nine times in the top of the inning, while Parker had a six-run turn.  The Bulldogs led 13-9 after three innings.

Baltic added another run in the top of the fourth to increase the lead to 14-9.  Neither team scored in the fifth inning.  The Bulldogs offense then had a five-run top of the sixth inning to make it a 10-run game, 19-9.  Parker was unable to score, and the game ended on the 10-run rule.

Anna Hoekman had five hits, one of them a triple, and four RBIs.  Amelia Sinding had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs.  Ryah Peters also had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  Amaris Handsaker, Kaylee Siemonsma, and Ellie Pickett all had a single and RBI each.  Madyson Determan had a single.  Harper Kortemeyer and Castyn Rogers both had an RBI.

Charlee Bommer pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed nine runs, six earned, on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts.  Ashlyn Klein threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed two hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
