Dakota Valley Scores Nine Straight Runs to Defeat Baltic

Dakota Valley broke a 3-3 tie with nine straight runs for a 12-3 win in high school baseball action against Baltic on Friday, March 29th.

Braxton Allen scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning to give Baltic an early 1-0 lead.  Dakota Valley responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning.  The Panthers added another run in the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead.  Riley Schultz hit an RBI sacrifice fly, and Allen later scored on an error in the top of the third to tie the game 3-3.

Dakota Valley would then score in every inning the rest of the game.  They scored a run in the bottom of the third, four in the bottom of the fourth inning, third in the fifth, and added one more in the sixth for a 12-3 score.  Baltic was only able to get two baserunners after scoring their third run via walks.

Allen had the only hit in the game for the Baltic, and Schultz had an RBI.  Allen also pitched two innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and five walks with a strikeout.  Schultz threw 3 2/3 innings giving up seven runs, five earned, on two hits with six walks and four strikeouts.  Tate Feucht pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up an earned run on a hit and walk.
