Mary Dressing
Mary E. Dressing, 85, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Touchmark at All Saints Retirement Community in Sioux Falls, SD. A funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 12, 2014, at George Boom Funeral Home, 3408 E. 10th St., with the family present one hour prior. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mary Ellen Klingel, the daughter of Oliver and Yola (Smalley) Klingel was born November 17, 1928, in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Washington High School in 1946. On June 25, 1948, Mary was united in marriage with Edwin Dressing in Sioux Falls. The couple lived in Huron, SD for some time, before returning to Sioux Falls in 1960. Mary was a homemaker. Edwin died August 2, 1995.
On August 18, 2002, Mary was united in marriage with Arve Peterson in Humboldt, SD. Arve died in April of 2005.
Grateful for having shared her children, Nancy Bowden of Sioux Falls, Brian (Pam) Dressing of Sioux Falls, Mary Jamison of Dell Rapids, SD, Laura Dressing of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Edwin Dressing and Arve Peterson; and a son, John Dressing.

Mary Ellen Scholten, age 63 of Rock Rapids, IA died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Avera Dells Area Hospital in Dell Rapids, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1PM, Saturday, May 10th at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA.Burial will follow at the Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood, IA. Visitation will be Friday, May 9th from 2-8PM, with the family present from 6-8PM at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rock Rapids, IA. Also there will be a Vigil service and Rosary held at 7PM Friday evening at Holy Name Church in Rock Rapids.

Robert “Bob” Troff
Robert “Bob” P. Troff, 72, of Trent, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Avera Dougherty House in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church, rural Flandreau. Interement will be in the Egan Hillside Cemetery, rural Egan. Robert Pete Troff was born on September 24, 1941 at Swea City, IA the son of Pete and Ila (Beadle) Troff. He grew up on the IA family farm and attended Swea City, Ledyard & Armstrong, IA schools. He graduated from Swea City High School in 1959. After high school he attended some college at Gustavus Adolphus College, St Paul, MN, Estherville Community College and Mankato State. He worked with Ashback Construction, Co. out of St. Paul, MN and worked in Houston, TX . He married Lillian “Lolly” (Olson) Fisher on May 24, 1965 in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Trent, SD. Bob became a Sales Rep for the Quaker Oats Co. & Cargill. Bob & Lolly’s passion for horses inspired them to build a horse barn where they trained 75-100 horses per year for ten years. Together they put on Quarter Horse and Appaloosa shows and sales. Bob was the local Trent City Marshall in the late 1960’s. In the 1970s, they purchased the first farm east of Trent with about 300 acres and raised beef and club cattle. Bob also worked off the farm with Wyland /Wyco Construction and later as Moody Country Weed Supervisor. In 2002, they retired and sold the cattle herd but remained on the farm where he continues his hobby with horses, cattle and other farming interests.
Bob was an avid reader and a strong promoter of educating youth with regards to livestock and agriculture. He was the founder of the Moody County Report Ag Theft [MCRAT] program which later was reorganized where funding went to the Flandreau and the Moody County Harvest Ag Festival Scholarship.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Ila.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Lolly of Trent, a sister, Beverly (Jerry) Schumann of Okoboji, IA, children, Todd Fisher of Trent, Robin (Fisher) (Jon)Rowe Kalamazoo, MI and Rodney Troff of Trent; his four grandchildren, Chelsea Cullen of AZ, Caitlin Cullen, AZ, Kasey Fisher, OK, & Natalie Rowe, MI; and his niece and many nephews.
St Mary Participates in Baltic Track Invite
The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls and boys track teams participated in the Baltic Invite on Tuesday, May 6th, in Baltic. The Cardinal girls finished in fifth place with 57 team points. Garretson won the event with 141 points. Deubrook Area finished second with 100 points, and Chester Area finished third with 91 points. The St Mary boys finished fourth with 91 team points. Baltic won the boys event with 126 points. Garretson finished with 101 points, and Chester Area was third with 93 points.

Dr. Christopher J. Moller
Dr. Christopher J. Moller, 82, of Brookings died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Brookview Manor in Brookings.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Brookings. Burial will be in the West Nidaros Cemetery, rural Crooks. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 PM Friday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic and one hour before the service at the church. Condolences may be left at www.minnehahafuneralhome.com.
Christopher Jennings Moller was born June 3, 1931 in Dell Rapids to parents Christopher and Jennie (Iverson) Moller. He grew up four miles west of Baltic and attended the Willow Creek Country School and graduated from Lyons High School. After high school, he attended St. Olaf College and SDSU before entering the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he attended USD and graduated from USD Medical School. He then graduated from Northwestern Medical School in Chicago and took his specially training as a Ears, Nose and Throat Physician at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Christopher married Florence Nielson June 17, 1958 at Benton Lutheran Church rural Crooks.
Christopher started his work at Minneapolis General, his general practice in Dell Rapids, then to Mitchell and later in Mankato until his retirement. In 1999 they moved to Brookings, where he enjoyed woodworking and reading.
During his career he also volunteered for two month in Vietnam treating civilians and also in the Presentation Sisters Program in Mexico.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Florence, Brookings; children, Eric (Nannette) Moller, Fullerton, CA; Katherine Magee, Sioux Falls; Jennifer Moller, Luverne, MN; Margaret (Dave Conrad) Moller, St. Cloud, MN; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Alexander Moller, David and Thomas Wimer, Kristin Moller, Vance (Kim Star) Magee, Adam Magee, Maybelle and Donald Conrad, and six great grandchildren, Izabella and Ramone Moller, King, Lennox and Cashiz Harwood, and Kierra Magee He was preceded in death by his parents Christopher and Jennie Moller. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eloy Heilman
Eloy Heilman, age 63, died unexpectedly at his home of natural causes on May 3, 2014.
He was born on July 26, 1950 at Aberdeen, SD to Pius and Nathalia (Kappenman) Heilman. He moved to Madison in 1959. He graduated from Madison High School and from Dakota State College. He married Lynette Rucker at Madison on April 24, 1982. They owned and operated Thrifty Dry Cleaners for 10 years. He was working at Heilman Construction along with his brother at the time of his death. He served in the US Naval Reserve as a Cee Bee. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife – Lynette of Madison. Two sons – Matt (Amy) of Dell Rapids, SD and Seth of Madison, one grandson – Aiden and one granddaughter- Summer. His parents – Pius and Nathalia Heilman of Madison. Two brothers – Richard and Dr Bernard (Linda) both of Madison.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev DeWayne Kayser officiating. Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery, rural Rutland. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at Weiland Funeral Chapel.

Dak-12 Conference Golf Tournament
Rocky Run Golf Course in Dell Rapids held the girls Dak-12 Conference Tournament meet on Monday, May 5th. Eleven of the twelve conference schools sent teams to the meet. Sioux Falls Christian won the team title with a total 368. Madison finished second with a team score of 376, and Vermillion finished third with 387. Dell Rapids finished seventh with a team score of 430.
May High of Dakota Valley won the individual title with a round of 83. Samantha Langord of Madison finished second with a round of 84, and Mikayla Christensen of Sioux Falls Christian finished third with around of 86.
Natasha Reit finished with a round of 100 for Dell Rapids. Kaitlyn Greenhoff shot a 101, April Tomes fired a 114, Sara Haak a 115, Rose Habeger had a round of 117, and Courtney Sorsen finished with a round of 119.
