Cardinal Football Posts Big Win over Lake Preston

October 18, 2014 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

DellRapidsStMaryFootballDell Rapids St. Mary continues its march to the playoffs with a dominant win over the Lake Preston Divers 56-0 in Lake Preston on Friday, October 17th.

St. Mary come out on their opening drive and scored on a Josh Brown touchdown run. The first touchdown of the quarter was a pass from Heinricy to Noah Fiegen.  The Cardinals scored again on their next possession, this time by Mitch Brown.  St. Mary scored their last two touchdowns on runs by Heinricy and M. Brown.  The Cardinals not only scored seven touchdowns in the first half to end the game at halftime, they were 7-7 on 2-point conversations.

Offensively St. Mary’s spread the ball around very well in the run game. Heinricy had four carries for 57 yards and a touchdown.  Schnieders finished with three carries for 49 yards and a touchdown.
