Alcester-Hudson Boys Suffer Overtime Loss

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs tied the game late, but fell in overtime to the West Sioux Falcons 57-55 on Tuesday, February 11th.

The Cubs did have a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 11-9.  West Sioux went on a 12-2 run to take a 21-13 lead with 2:45 to play in the second quarter.  Alcester-Hudson scored the next seven points to pull within one, 21-20, at halftime.

The Falcons went on another run to start the third quarter.  They built a 34-22 lead with 3:40 to go in the third.  Once again the Cubs rallied and cut the lead to 36-33 going into the fourth quarter.  The Falcons pushed the lead to seven, 47-40, with just under three minutes to go in the game.  Alcester-Hudson fought back, and Ethan Bovill hit a three-point shot with just :15 on the clock to tie the game 51-51 and force overtime.  In the overtime period, West Sioux got all six of their points from the free-throw line while holding the Cubs to just four points.

Tommy Walth finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Evan Brown had 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Jose Topete-Lopez added 11 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Bovill had seven points, four steals, three assists, and two rebounds.  Jacob Cole also had seven points.
