Cub Girls Break Back into the Win Column

The Alcester-Hudson Cub girls broke back into the win column with a 49-40 home win over the Irene-Wakonda Eagles on Thursday, January 23rd.

The Cubs held just a two-point lead, 13-11, by the end of the first quarter.  They were able to extend the lead to 23-17 by halftime.  Alcester-Hudson kept their lead throughout the third quarter and led 38-29 going into the fourth quarter.  The Eagles tried to rally in the fourth quarter and got within four points, but the Cubs were able to shut down that rally and hold for the win.

Emma Solberg had a big game with 21 points.  Jenna Manning was strong from the free-throw line and finished with 14 points.  Emma Moller had five points.  Emily Winquist had four points.  Hannah Ahart and Devin Hongslo each had two points apiece.
