Alcester-Hudson Blanked by FAM

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs traveled to Freeman to play the Freeman/Freeman Academy/Marion Phoenix on Friday, September 20th.  The Phoenix blanked the Cubs, 42-0.

The scoring started in the first quarter.  The Phoenix got two passing touchdowns, one of 84 yards and one of 28 yards, to build a 12-0 lead.  They added two more scores and a two-point conversion in the second quarter.  The Phoenix had a rushing touchdown of 22 yards and then a passing touchdown of 80 yards for a 26-0 lead at halftime.

Freeman/Freeman Academy/Marion continued the momentum in the second half.  They had a five-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, and then made the two-point conversion, to extend the lead to 34-0.  The final touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 46-yard pass.  A made two-point conversion led to the 42-0 final score.

The Cubs had 213 yards of offense, 194 rushing yards and 19 passing yards.  The Phoenix finished with 543 yards of offense, 163 rushing yards and 380 passing yards.  Tommy Walth finished with 16 carries for 112 yards.  Jose Topete-Lopez had 11 carries for 52 yards.  Darin Dykstra added six carries for 23 yards.  Walth was also 3-12 passing for 19 yards.  Ethan Bovill had all three catches.  Evan Brown had five tackles.  Walth and Dykstra both had 4.5 tackles each.  Topete-Lopez added four tackles.  Jackson Meyer had 3.5 tackles and an interception.
