The Alcester-Hudson Cubs suffered a loss at the Dakota State University Classic in Madison on Saturday, January 20th. The Cubs played the Florence/Henry Falcons and fell by a score of 61-55.
The game was close throughout the entirety. Florence/Henry held a two-point lead at halftime, 30-28. The Cubs were able to take the lead midway through the third quarter. Alcester-Hudson led 40-39 with 4:30 to play, but the third quarter ended in a 44-44 tie.
The Cubs scored the first basket of the fourth quarter, over two and a half minutes into the quarter, to take a 46-44 lead. The Falcons were then went on a 7-1 run for a 51-47 advantage with 2:37 to play. After the Cubs cut the lead down to two, 51-49, Florence/Henry scored the next four points to extend their lead to 55-49. Every time the Cubs cut into the lead. the Falcons were able to respond to hang on for the victory.
