Cubs Girls Basketball Season Ends in Region 4B Against Freeman

The Alcester-Hudson Cub (6-15) girls basketball season came to an end in the Region 4B tournament in Centerville on Tuesday, February 21st.  The Cubs fell to the Freeman Flyers 62-36.

Freeman built a lead in the first quarter and kept adding to it throughout the game.  The Flyers led 17-8 at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 36-20 by halftime.  The Cubs were held to just eight points in the third quarter and trailed 50-28 going into the fourth quarter.

Alcester-Hudson shot 24% (11-46) in the game, 1-6 from three-point area, and 48% (13-27) from the free-throw line.  Freeman shot 36% (20-55) overall, 22% (4-18) on three-point attempts, and 67% (18-27) from the free-throw line.  The Flyers also forced 20 Cub turnovers.

Ella Serck had 12 points and three rebounds.  Alexis Gray had eight points and two rebounds.  Elly Doering finished with seven points and 12 rebounds.  Sarah Ebert added five points, five rebounds, and two assists.   Emily Winquist and Carly Patrick both had two points each.
