Cub Boys Win in Wild Second Half

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs (5-11) defeated the Freeman Flyers in a game that had a wild second half on Thursday, February 2nd.  The Cubs won 52-49 to win their second straight game.

The Cubs held a 15-12 lead after the first quarter.  They were able to add to the lead in the second quarter and were ahead 29-24 at halftime.  Both teams had big runs in the second half.  The Flyers had a huge third quarter and outscored the Cubs 23-9 to take a nine-point lead, 47-38, into the fourth quarter.  Alcester-Hudson started the fourth quarter on a 9-0 run to tie the game 47-47 and held Freeman to just two points in the quarter to get the win.

Dominic Van Egdom had 16 points and seven rebounds.  Evan Brown finished with 10 points.  Ethan Bovill added nine points, four rebounds, and five steals.  Jose Topete-Lopez had five points and five rebounds.  Mateo Kleinhans also had five points and three rebounds.
