Centerville Pulls Away from Alcester-Hudson Girls in Fourth Quarter

The Centerville Tornadoes turned a five-point lead at the end of three quarters into a 50-36 win against the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (5-10) on Tuesday, January 31st.

The Tornadoes built a 17-10 lead by the end of the first quarter and pushed it to double digits, 27-17, by halftime.  Alcester-Hudson cut that lead in half by the end of the third quarter and trailed 36-31 heading into the fourth quarter.  The Tornadoes outscored the Cubs 14-5 in the final quarter.

The Cubs shot 32% (14-44) overall in the game, 0-6 on three-point attempts, and 8-12 from the free-throw line.  Alcester-Hudson had a total of 24 team rebounds and turned the ball over 13 times in the game.

Elly Doering had 16 points and eight rebounds.  Ella Serck finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Alexis Gray added six points.  Sarah Ebert ended with three points and three rebounds.
