Cubs Volleyball Finishes 2-2 at Great Plains Conference Tournament

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs traveled to Andes Central High School for the Great Plains Conference Tournament on Saturday, October 1st.  The Cubs split their four matches and finished 2-2 on the day.

In the first set of the day, the Cubs won a three-set match against Andes Central/Dakota Christian.  Alcester-Hudson won by scores of 25-22, 20-25, and 25-22.  In their second match of pool play, the Cubs defeated Scotland in straight sets by scores of 25-21 and 26-24.  The final match of pool play was against Gayville-Volin.  The Raiders won in straight sets 25-22 and 25-17.

The Cubs finished second in their pool with a 2-1 record to qualify for the six-team championship bracket.  Alcester-Hudson played the Gayville-Volin Raiders again in bracket play, but fell in straight sets again by scores of 25-18 and 25-14.

Emma Moller finished the tournament with 21 kills, 34 digs, and 11 ace serves.  Elly Doering had 20 kills, 13 digs, and seven blocks.  Alexis Gray had 15 kills and 36 digs.  Clary Patrick had 10 kills and 12 digs.  Ella Serck finished with 54 set assists, 38 digs, seven ace serves, and five kills.  Hannah Ahart tallied 60 digs, four ace serves, three set assists, and a kill.  Jenna Manning added 22 digs.
