The West Central Trojan girls soccer team won their second straight South Dakota Class A State title, and fifth in the last six years, on Saturday, October 16th.  The Trojans defeated the Dakota Valley Panthers 2-1 at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls.

The Trojans entered the state tournament as the #1 seed.  They hosted a semifinal match against Sioux Falls Christian on Saturday, October 9th.  The Trojans defeated the Changers 1-0 to advance to the title match.

Rylee Haldeman scored the first goal just under five minutes into the match.  The score remained 1-0 in favor of West Central at halftime.  Dakota Valley got the tying goal with 12:54 left in the second half when Emma Deacon scored on a penalty kick.

About seven minutes later at the 5:31 mark of the second half, Haldeman got the game-winning goal for the Trojans on a penalty kick.
