The Dell Rapids Quarriers pushed their winning streak to four with a 72-54 win over the Sioux Valley Cossacks on Friday, January 20th. Not only was this the fourth win in a row, it was the Quarriers sixth in their last seven games.
After the score was tied 10-10, the Quarriers finished out the first quarter on a 12-0 run to take a 22-10 lead after the first quarter. Dell Rapids was able to increase the lead to 37-20 by halftime. Sioux Valley made a couple of runs in the second half, but every time the Cossacks got the lead under 10 points, the Quarriers had an answer.
Emma Paul and Jayda Knuppe both finished the game with 21 points and seven rebounds each. Arial Hoffman had nine points, Kaylee Hennen had eight points, and Aspen Hansen finished with seven points.
Dell Rapids (8-4) will host Elk Point-Jefferson as part of a double header with the boys on Saturday, January 21st. Both games can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
