After trailing 13-10 at the end of the first quarter, the Centerville Tornadoes defeated the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals 53-36 on Tuesday, February 9th, at Dell Rapids St Mary High School. The Tornadoes held St Mary to just 23 combined points in the remaining three quarters while scoring 43 for the victory.
The Cardinals shot 31% (13-42) from the field, 23% (3-13) from three-point area, and 54% (7-13) from the free-throw line. St Mary out rebounded Centerville 40-32, but turned the ball over 26 times.
Noah Fiegen posted a double-double for the Cardinals with 15 points and 20 rebounds. Connor Libis finished with seven points, Luke Brown had six points, and Zach Geraets added five points and six rebounds. Tyrell Martz had 18 points, and Rory O’Malley had 17 for Centerville.
St Mary (1-15) will host Colman/Egan on Thursday, February 11th. The game can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
