The DeSmet Bulldog’s held the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals to just 11 first half points on their way to a 42-22 win in girls basketball action on Thursday, December 17th, in DeSmet. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-6 lead after the first quarter and led 29-11 at halftime. DeSmet also lead 34-13 at the end of the third quarter.
St Mary shot just 14.7% (5-34) from the field in the game and 70.6% (12-17) from the free-throw line. The Cardinals had a total of 37 team rebounds, seven steals, four assists, but turned the ball over 30 times.
Jackie Wolles had nine points and nine rebounds in the game. Sydney Cook also had nine points along with two rebounds. Abby Burkhart and Lexi Klein each had two points apiece. Kennedi Mullaney had two assists and four rebounds in the game.
St Mary (0-3) will play Colman-Egan in the Entringer Classic on Saturday, December 19th. The game can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
