In an elimination game on Saturday, July 25th, Dell Rapids PBR fell to Salem 12-0 in seven innings ending their 2015 season. This is the second year in a row that Dell Rapids PBR has failed to qualify for the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament.
Salem opened up the game with two runs in the top of the first inning, one of those runs coming on a steal of home. The Cubs added another run in the second inning and had an early 3-0 lead. Salem did not slow down as they added three more runs in the third. The big blow came in the top of the 7th inning when Salem scored five times to push their lead to 12-0.
The Dell Rapids PBR offense could not get anything going throughout the game. Salem kept PBR off the bases in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th innings retiring 15 PBR hitters in a row.
