After Ed’s passing in 1990, Vonnie continued to live on the farm enjoying the outdoors, her little dog Ralph, and her family, friends, and grandchildren. She was also a member of Highland Lutheran Church and the ladies’ aide there. In 2002 Vonnie moved to Orchard Hills in Dell Rapids, South Dakota until 2009 when she moved to the Inn on Westport, SiouxFalls, South Dakota. In August of 2011, Vonnie moved to The Bethany Home in Brandon, South Dakota, residing there until the time of her death on December 4, 2016.
