Michael Shedd

Michael SheddMichael Shedd, 55, of Elk Point, SD, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Sanford Vermillion Hospital.

Michael was born on February 19, 1959 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Norman and Patricia (Ferdig) Shedd. He graduated from Elk Point in 1977. He was a member of Brule Creek Lutheran Church. He married the love of his life, Eileen Workman on December 1, 1979 at Brule Creek Lutheran Church. To this union, four children were born, Nick, Paul, Samantha, and Leslie.

For the last 15 years, he has been a self-employed grain hauler. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching history, western, and car shows. He was an avid collector of antiques, spending time fixing up old cars, dressing as Santa, and bringing plenty of toys to all the kids.

Survivors including his wife, Eileen of Elk Point, his children, Nick (Audrey) Shedd of Inwood, Iowa, Paul (Betsy) of Erie, Colorado, Samantha (Adam)Schave of Beresford, South Dakota, and Leslie (Kevin) Olsen of Inwood, Iowa; his parents, Norman and Patricia Shedd of Elk Point, South Dakota; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Andrea and Andrew Florke, and Serenity Shedd; his siblings, Debra (Mike) Henriksen of Dells Rapids, South Dakota, Amy (Roger) Palmer of Mellette, South Dakota, and Mark Shedd (Teresa Schmidt) of Alcester, South Dakota; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Workman; brother-in-law, Allen Workman of Brookings, South Dakota, and his sister-in-law, Margaret Workman of Japan.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Workman and his sister-in-law, Kristen Mattson.  Condolences may be left at www.koberfuneralhome.com
