Marian Klein

Marian KleinMarian Klein, 86, of Hartford passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in Hartford. Burial will be in the St. George Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a Wake Service at 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the church.  Condolences may be left at www. minnehahafuneralhome.com

Marian was born May 28, 1928 on the family farm, rural Hartford to parents Tom and Nellie (Byg) Broyles. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1946. Marian married Walter Klein February 11, 1947. They farmed near Dell Rapids for two years before moving to the family farm in the Hartford area where she farmed alongside of her husband. They moved to Hartford in 1993.

Marian was a member of St. George Catholic Church, Altar Society, Bentonette Extension Club, Empire Saddle Club, Community Saddle Club, Happy Gals Card Club and Dakota Harness Club.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Walter Klein, Hartford; children, David (Linda) Klein, Fort Scott, KS, Dennis (Cheryl) Klein, Crooks, Steven (Debra) Klein, Sioux Falls, Walter (Lisa) Klein, Magnolia, TX, Terry (Cindy) Klein, Hartford and Pam Klein Teuber, Rapid City; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Julie Klein; grandson, Shawn Klein; great-grandson, Bryson Wilking and sister, Shirley Sorum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. George Catholic Church building fund.
