Later he became a medical transcriptionist for many local doctors in the St. Petersburg area. He was well known for creating his own transcription system.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Peterson.

Grateful for having shared his life are his brother Robert “Bob” (Lee) Peterson and sister, Beth (Marvin) Nelsen; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews; special friend, Julia Fitzpatrick.
