Harold Goehrs, age 87, of Baltic, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Dells Nursing & Rehab Center in Dell Rapids. Harold was born on March 12, 1927, at Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harold Robert and Mary (McMullin) Goehrs. He moved to Washington State at the age of four. Following high school, he was drafted into the United States Army Air Corp in 1946. He was honorably discharged in 1949 and spent the next 10 years working on merchant ships. He then spent the remaining time until his retirement working as a nursing assistant with the VA in Spokane, Washington. On February 14, 1970, he married Shirley Holbeck in Spokane. The couple moved to Baltic in December of 1992 and remained there until moving to Dell Rapids in 2012.
Harold was a member of the Baltic American Legion. He greatly enjoyed raising sheep, caring for his dogs, and going to morning and afternoon coffee in Baltic.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Shirley, Dell Rapids; Eugene Goehrs, Everett, Washington, James (Ellen) Goehrs, Spokane, Washington, and Walter (Dot) Goehrs, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters: Rosemary Bailey, Margaret Ann Johnson, and Ruth Dietch.
