Quarrier Girls Basketball Comes to an End

The Dell Rapids Quarriers girls basketball season came to an end in the first round of the District 6A tournament in Baltic on Tuesday, February 19th.  The Baltic Bulldogs defeated the Quarriers 53-30.  Baltic led from start to finish in the ball game, jumping out to a quick 7-0 lead.  Dell Rapids cut the lead down to 7-6, but Baltic ended the first quarter on a 9-0 run for a 16-6 lead.  Baltic would extend the lead to 26-13 at halftime.  Dell Rapids would cut the lead to 26-19 with 4:51 to play in the 3rd quarter, but Baltic ended the game on a 27-11 scoring difference for the win.

Dell Rapids was led by Mikaela Stofferahn and Brittney Siemonsma each with five points.  Karen Eddy, McKenzie Rinehart, and Julia Rice each had four points apiece.  Baltic was led by Morgan Forsch with a game-high 21 points.  Mariah Hanisch had 15 points for the Bulldogs, and Allie Walter added 12 points.

The Quarriers end their season with a record of 7-14.  Baltic moves on to play Sioux Falls Christian in the District 6A Championship game on Thursday, February 21st, at 6:30 p.m. in Tea.
