PBR Ends Mudcats Winning Streak

Last night in a battle between the two Dell Rapids amateur baseball teams, PBR ended the Mudcats eight game winning streak with a win by a score of 5-2 at Rickeman Field.  The Mudcats drop to 9-2 on the year and 7-2 in the Cornbelt League.  PBR improves to 5-4 in the Cornbelt League with the win.

Andy Dunn pitched seven innings for PBR giving up five hits, two runs while striking out six.  Landon Klock pitched the final two innings to close out the game.  Dunn and Klock combined to hold the Mudcats hitless after the sixth inning.  Kevin Krull had a double for the PBR offense and Scott Lebrun had a 2 RBI single.  Mark Houck had a double and a single for the Mudcats.

PBR will be in Tea Sunday afternoon for a double-header starting at 4:00 pm.  The Mudcats will host Canistota for a double-header starting at 2:00 pm.

Mudcats Move to 7-1 in Cornbelt League

Dell Rapids Mudcats defeated Salem, 10-6, on Tuesday night and maintain a slight lead in the Cornbelt standings.   With the win, the Mudcats are 7-1 in league play while Canova is 6-1.   Canova will host Humboldt tonight while other games include Colman at Canistota, Madison at Flandreau, Lennox at Harrisburg, Salem at Tea, and the Mudcats and PBR playing one another.  Scores from tonight’s (Thursday) action will be posted Friday under the ‘sports tab’.

Cornbelt Baseball

A Sunday night without Cornbelt Baseball, but that was the case last night.  Due to the Memorial Holiday weekend, as is the case with the league, no games were scheduled for last night, but a full slate of games are scheduled for tomorrow night (May 29th).   You can check out who is playing and where by going to the ‘Sports Tab’ and click onto Cornbelt schedule/standings.
