Antoinette Heinricy

Antoinette HeinricyAntoinette E. Heinricy, 97, of Dell Rapids passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Dells Area Health Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Visitation on Friday, May 27, 2016 will begin at 2:00 p.m. A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with the Wake Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home. On-line condolences may be left at Kahler Funeral Home.

Antoinette E. DePauw was born on January 24, 1919 at Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Adolph and Eleanora (Oberle) DePauw. She moved to Jasper, MN where she grew up and graduated high school. She married Henry Heinricy in Dell Rapids. The couple made their home on their farm near Dell Rapids. They continued to farm until Henry’s death in 1970. She then moved with her family into Dell Rapids. She started working for Stone’s Mink Ranch and cleaned the laundry mat for Leonard Schwebach until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and volunteered at Padre’s and the nursing home.

Antoinette liked quilting and making quilts for family members. She enjoyed family gatherings and her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughters, Shirley, Judy, Louise and Monica; her granddaughter, SueAnn and her grandson, Sean; her two sisters, Phyllis and Gretchen and her brother, Norbert.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, John (Rita) of Battle Creek, MI and Roger (Jackie) of Cologne, MN; her daughters, Geraldine Heinricy of Tempe, AZ and Kathy Barnhart of Hudson, WI; her seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Sieg of Hot Springs and her brother, Bob (Celine) DePauw of Minneapolis, MN.
