The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal volleyball team traveled to Estelline for the Estelline Tournament on Saturday, August 25th. The Cardinals finished sixth in the tournament with a 1-3 record.
The Cardinals split their two matches in pool play to start the tournament. St Mary earned a three-set win against Wilmot by scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-22. The Cardinals then dropped a straight-set match to Estelline/Hendricks by scores of 25-10, 25-21.
With a 1-1 record in pool play, the Cardinals qualified for the silver division in the “division play” round of the tournament. St Mary lost a three-set match to Waubay/Summit by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 21-25. They also lost in straight sets to Great Plains Lutheran by scores of 25-18, 25-16.
St Mary (2-3) will travel to De Smet on Tuesday, August 28th for their next match.
