On Tuesday, April 22nd, the Dell Rapids Quarrier girls golf team traveled to Hartford for their first 18-hole tournament of the year, the West Central Invite. Three earlier meets had been cancelled due to poor weather. The Quarriers finished eighth out of 13 teams, and finished with a team score of 431.
Kaitlyn Greenhoff led the team with a round of 102. Sarah Haak shot her all-time best round of 105. Natasha Reit, April Tomes, Courtney Sorsen, and Rose Habeger also participated in the event.
Head coach Jeff Dvorak said, “It was a great day for golf. Being as inexperienced as we are, our girls just need to play in a bunch of meets to find their games and get a little continuity to their swings and course management. A few different girls set personal standards today so I was proud of those accomplishments.”The Quarriers are scheduled to play in the Vermillion Invite at the Bluffs Golf Course on Monday, April 28th.
