Quarrier Volleyball Can’t Stop Cougars

October 1, 2015 by Matt Larson, Big Sioux Media

NewDRLogoOn Tuesday, September 29th, the Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team dropped their match to the McCook Central/Montrose Cougars in Salem by game scores of 27-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-14.  Mikaela Stofferahn finished the match with seven kills, two blocks and two aces.  Trinity Gordon ended with eight kills and 13 digs.  Sydney Stofferahn had five kills, and Arial Hoffman added four kills.  Brook Klein finished with 12 digs and six ace serves.

“Even though we were on the losing end of the match, I saw some very good things.  Consistency in all the facets of volleyball is sometimes difficult to achieve.   I do like how we are developing as a team.   I know that the fruits of our labor will come later.  We just have to stay with the course,” said head coach Dale Solberg.

The Quarriers fall to 5-11 on the year.  Dell Rapids will host Lennox on Thursday, October 1st.  The match can be seen on Big Sioux Media.

The JV lost two sets to zero. Tiffanie Dorale, Kenzie Gullickson, Hannah Fletcher, and Emma Paul were credited for their play.   The C team won 2 sets to 1.  Babette Van Giersbergen, Regan Stone, Jayda Knuppe, and Ravyn Hoffman paved the way for the victory.
