June Mailey

June A. Mailey, 83, of Dell Rapids passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Her memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 in the Kahler Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the start of the service.  Condolences may be left at www.kahlerfh.com.

June Artley Vaselaar was born on July 1, 1932 the twin daughter of David and Agnes Vaselaar. She grew up and attended school in White, SD. She graduated from White High School in 1950. She married Jack Mailey on August 24, 1951 at the YWCA in Seattle, WA while Jack was stationed at Sand Point Naval Base in Seattle. After Jack’s discharge, the couple moved to Dell Rapids, SD. June stayed at home and raised her children until they were in school. She then started working at Raven Industries in Sioux Falls. In 1972, she started working as the bookkeeper for Lodmell Ford in Dell Rapids. The couple owned and operated Car Quest Auto Store and Trustworthy Hardware and Clothing in Dell Rapids until their retirement.

June enjoyed her flowers and the birds. She was an avid quilter and seamstress. She loved going camping and especially fishing. June always had a pot of coffee on. She was a twin that gave birth to twins.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Majorie Dawn Muhs and Marcie Ljunggren; her son, Mark; her grandsons, Jeremiah Jack Mailey and Tucker James Muhs; her twin brother, John, her brother, Robert and her sister, Beverly Barrett.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack Mailey of Dell Rapids; her son, Marshall (Denise) Mailey of Dell Rapids; her son-in-law, Gale Ljunggren of Dell Rapids; her grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Ljunggren, Josh (Bobbi) Ljunggren, Ashley Pfeifer and Michael Mailey and her seven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jenny Vaselaar and numerous nieces and nephews.
