De Smet Football Team Cruises Past O-R-R Raiders

The De Smet Bulldogs recorded a big win on the road against the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Raiders on Friday, September 8th.  The Bulldogs won 57-6.

Trace Van Regenmorter began the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown run with 11:11 to go in the first quarter.  Britt Carlson threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Van Regenmorter with 8:31 to go.  The two-point conversion was good, and De Smet led 14-0.  Carlson added a 17-yard touchdown pass to Tom Aughenbaugh with 3:19 to go to extend the lead to 22-0 after a two-point conversion.

The Bulldogs got another touchdown pass from Carlson on the very first play of the second quarter.  Carlson connected with Kadyn Fast for a 54-yard touchdown to make the score 28-0.  The Raiders got their only touchdown on a 26-yard pass with 6:34 to play in the first half.  On the kickoff immediately following the Raider touchdown, Fast returned the ball for a touchdown.  A made extra point put the Bulldogs in front 35-6 with 6:34 to play in the second quarter.  Ganon Henrich added a 62-yard touchdown run with 2:20 in the half.  Another made extra point gave the Bulldogs a 42-6 lead.

Fast had his second kickoff return for a touchdown to start the third quarter.  With the extra point, the lead grew to 49-6.  Wyatt Rigge had a five-yard touchdown run with about 8:00 left in the third quarter.  A made two-point conversion ended the game with a final score of 57-6.
