Playing in their third game in four days, the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals won their 10th game of the season after a 56-43 victory over the Garretson Blue Dragons on Monday, January 23rd.
The Cardinals once again led start to finish in the game. They built a 15-8 lead by the end of the first quarter and then extended the lead to 30-20 by halftime. The lead grew a little more in the third quarter, and the Cardinals led 43-29 heading into the fourth quarter. The Cardinals matched any little run Garretson had in the fourth quarter.
St Mary shot 38% (16-42) from the field, 38% (9-24) from three-point area, and 79% (15-19) from the free-throw line. Garretson was held to 27% (13-49) shooting, 1-16 on three-point attempts, and 58% (15-26) from the free-throw line.
Ella Griffin finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Madala Hanson had 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Brianna Griffin, Whitney Warwick, and Sydney Klein all had four points each. Klein also had four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
