Cardinal Track Teams Both Place Second at DVC Meet

Both the St Mary’s Cardinal girls and boys track teams placed second at the Dakota Valley Conference meet held in Arlington on Thursday, May 14th.  The girls team finished with a team score of 138.  The boys team had a team score of 153.  Several school records were once again set by the Cardinals.

Maddyn LeBrun won the javelin with a throw of 123’1″ and placed second in the discus with a school-record throw of 129’7″.  Layla Hanson won the long jump with a school-record jump of 16’7.75″.  Emersyn Herber finished second in the 200m dash with a time of :27.71.  Kate Liebl was second in the javelin at 120’0″.  Madalyn LaVoy finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 32’8.25″.  The 4x800m relay team of Sophia LaVoy, Lucy Vargas, Paige Deuter, and Addy Fiegen took third in a time of 11:16.20.

Logan Bauer won the 100m dash in a time of :10.89.  Jacob Flemmer took the top spot in the 800m run in a time of 2:02.97.  Jaxon Baumberger won the high jump with a leap of 5’11”.  Gavin Pica placed second in the discus with a throw of 143’2″.  Cooper Libis was third in the 3200m run in a time of 11:17.58.  Colter Griffin was third in the 300m hurdles in :43.54, which tied a school record.  Josh Liebl was third in the long jump with a leap of 18’5″.  Alex Lindeman was third in the shot put with a throw of 43’6″.  The 4x100m relay team of Thomas LaVoy, Lincoln LeBrun, Jake Heintiz, and Bauer won with a time of :43.89, which set a school record and DVC meet record.  The 4x200m relay team of LeBrun, Miller, Heinitz, and Pano Skliris took first in 1:33.49.  The 4x800m relay team of Baumberger, Kade Lutt, Joe Trumbauer, and Flemmer also won with a time of 8:54.24.  The 4x400m relay team of Heinitz, Baumberger, Skliris, and Flemmer placed second in 3:35.31.
