St Mary’s Boys Track Takes Top Spot at Dell Rapids Invite, Girls Third

The St Mary’s Cardinal track teams had a good day at the Dell Rapids Invite on Monday, May 11th. The boys team took first place with 122 points, 42 points better than second-place Garretson. The girls team finished third with 99 points. Two new school records were set and one was matched at the meet.

Maddyn LeBrun won the javelin with a throw of 112’11” and placed third in the discus at 107’2″. Layla Hanson won the long jump with a school-record tying leap of 16’7″. Madalyn LaVoy won the triple jump with a jump of 33’4.75″. Lucy Vargas took second in the 3200m run in 14:37.57. Lauryn LeBrun finished second in the javelin at 106’2″. Emersyn Herber was third in the 200m dash with a time of :28.43. Addy Fiegen was third in the 1600m run in 5:5524. Kate Liebel placed third in the shot put with a throw of 33’1″.

Logan Bauer took first in the 200m dash in a time of :23.19. Gavin Pica won the discus and set a school record with a throw of 152’2″. Jaxon Baumberger won the triple jump at 39’4.5″ and placed second in the high jump with a jump of 6’1″. Jacob Flemmer placed second in the 800m run in 2:03.06. Alex Lindeman was second in the shot put at 44’2″. Isaac Griffin was second in the triple jump with a jump of 38’7″. Thomas LaVoy was third in the 100m dash in :11.82. Jake Heinitz placed third in the 200m dash with a time of :24.07. Cooper Libis was third in the 800m run in a time of 2:11.09. The 4x200m relay team of T. LaVoy, Lincoln LeBrun, Heinitz, and Bauer won with a school-record setting time of 1:31.89. The 4x400m relay team of Flemmer, Joe Trumbauer, Kade Lutt, and Isaac Ahlers placed second in a time of 3:52.55.
