Both the St Mary Cardinal boys and girls track teams placed first at the Chester Invitational on Tuesday, April 14th. The girls team had 119 points, and the boys team finished with 153 points.
Maddyn LeBrun set a school record and won the discus with a throw of 125’9″. She also won the javelin with a throw of 114’11”. Lucy Vargas won the 3200m run in a time of 14:20.12. Madalyn LaVoy took first in the triple jump at 31’5.5″. Lauryn LeBrun finished second in the discus at 107’3″ and second in the javelin at 104’5″. Paige Deuter took third in the 1600m run in 6:13.83. Ryleigh Ahlers and Reagan Griffiin tied for third in the high jump with a jump of 4’4″. Griffin was also third in the long jump with a leap of 14’5.5″.
Jacob Flemmer placed first in the 800m run with a time of 2:05.56. Cooper Libis won the 1600m run in 5:00.47. Josh Liebl won the triple jump with a jump of 38’1″ and finished second in the long jump at 19’4″. Logan Bauer was second in the 100m dash (:11.77), second in the 200m dash (:23.45), and second in the 400m dash (:53.88). Gavin Pica finished second in the discus at 146’9″. Thomas LaVoy finished third in the 400m dash in :54.39. Alex Lindeman took third in the discus with a throw of 132’0″. The 4x400m relay team of LaVoy, Jake Heinitz, Flemmer, and Bauer won in a time of 3:36.73. The 4x800m relay team of Kade Lutt, Jaxon Baumberger, Joe Trumbauer, and Matt Heiinemann finished third in 9:11.95.
